The Horseshoe Point Pioneer Club has been around since 1959.
The HPPC Founders Vision: "Members may consider this waterfront playground to be an extention of their own backyard" ~ Brilliant!!.. and thank you... the legacy continues.
The original founders purchased the waterfront land during real estate development of Horseshoe Point Road. For houses on the east bound lane being built and houses south of Horseshoe Point Road, those houses were declared to have deeded easement access to the land. Access to the club requires annual membership dues. The club has grown in size over the years just by virtue of increasing home development.
Over the years, club members have helped improve the land, club house, boat ramp and dock. Members who have volunteered their time have done this purely out of pride for the club. There may be some odds and ends regards to improvements, but for the most part, the club is turn-key.
For prospective home buyers, you may be asking yourself if you have deeded access. It is strongly advised that you confirm with a club officer that you have deeded access prior to deal closure on the house. It is possible to become a "Social" member if you reside in Rocky Point and are not on a deeded lot, you have to be sponsored by a deeded member but the waiting list is obviously long and the uncertain nature of membership and boat ramp access should not be a deciding factor for home ownership in Rocky Point. Be careful, some realtors may be misinformed about deeded rights to club grounds.
